久しぶりの更新になりました。今回は、「バイオミミクリー（生物模倣）」について学習したいと思います。
バイオミミクリーはご存じの方も多いと思いますが、動植物の特性からアイディアを得て科学技術に適応するというものです。ベルクロ（マジックテープ）や新幹線の先端の形もバイオミミクリーに基づいて設計されています。
英作文では利点の方が圧倒的に書きやすいトピックですが、利点で１つ、欠点で１つ、英検準1級の英作文を想定しアイディアを書いてみたいと思います。
バイオミミクリーの利点
An advantage of biomimicry is that it could help humans create a sustainable society. For example, noise used to be a big problem when bullet trains entered a tunnel. The engineers found that the beak of a kingfisher might be applied to the design of bullet trains, and that succeeded in reducing the impact of noise pollution.
（バイオミミクリーの利点の１つは人類が持続可能な社会を作ることを助けうるということだ。例えば、新幹線がトンネルに入る際の騒音はかつて大きな問題だった。エンジニアはカワセミの口ばしが新幹線のデザインに適応できることを発見し、それは騒音公害の影響を軽減させることに成功した。）
バイオミミクリーの欠点
Biomimicry can be a time-consuming and expensive process. The first thing that people have to do is observe nature and find the right candidate. Then, tremendous amounts of trial and error will be required to successfully put it into practical use. Considering its prolonged process, it is hard to say that biomimicry is a sustainable technology.
（バイオミミクリーは時間を要しお金のかかるプロセスだ。まず人々は自然を観察し適切な候補（になる動植物）を見つけなければならない。それから、実用化させるために、途方もない量の試行錯誤が必要となるだろう。長引くプロセスを考慮に入れると、バイオミミクリーが持続可能な科学技術と言うことは難しい。）
