今回は名古屋大学（2017年度）和文英訳を解きました。特に難しい単語や表現もなかったので1題5分程度が目安だと思います。
問題
- （１）地球の表面の70％を覆い、人間の生活に欠かせない海の環境が、今のままでは危機的な状況を迎える。
- （２）近年はさらにインターネットによる多様な情報の発信、受信なども加わり、コミュニケーションの恩恵は計り知れないものになっている。
- （３）実際、おいしいものを作って喜ばせてあげようと腕を鳴らす人が和の中心にいると、その集団は華やぐ。
実際に書いた英文
- （１）The sea, which covers 70% of the earth's surface and is essential to human life, will be at risk if nothing is done.
- （２）Communication has brought us immeasurable benefits in recent years, thanks to the internet, which allows people to send and receive diverse information.
- （３）If there is someone who cooks well and tries to make others happy with something delicious in the center of a group, other people in the group will also feel happy.
解説
（１）
- the sea ⇒ 環境物の前に置く"the"
- 「地表」 ⇒ "earth's surface"
- 「欠かせない」 ⇒ 「必要不可欠」と解釈し"essential to"を選択
- 「危機的な状況を迎える」 ⇒ 「危機的な状況になる」と解釈し"be at risk"を選択
- 「今のままでは」 ⇒ "remain the same"や"leave the situation as it is"など複数の書き方があるが今回は"if nothing is done（何事もなされなければ）"を選択。
（２）
- 「多様な情報を発信し受信できるインターネットのおかげで、近年コミュニケーションが計り知れない恩恵をもたらしている」と文全体をパラフレーズ。前半部分は"Thanks to the internet, which ～"、後半部分は"Communication has brought us immeasurable benefits in recent years."を選択。後に"recent"を続ける場合は、現在完了を用いること。
（３）
- 「腕を鳴らす」「華やぐ」などの表現の英訳は難しいので、「もし料理が上手でおいしい料理で他の人を幸せにさせようとする人がグループの中心にいると、そのグループの残りの人々もまた幸せに感じる。」とパラフレーズすると、英訳しやすい日本語になる。
